Media release 2016

This year Chris Vandyke Designs has recieved a lot of interest with clients opting to come and draw on our expertise with the design of their homes and projects.

Currently we are working on our projects that range in location from Lake Macquarie in NSW through to Fiji!

2015 ended well for us with many nice homes & extensions being designed & later built around Port Douglas, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Mount Tamborine & Darwin.

2014 was a busy year for our office with projects ranging from Darwin through to the Gold Coast with even a couple Pacific island projects.

In addition to this we successfully designed & project managed the construction of a new High School for the Candlenut Steiner School at Kuranda.

2013 was an exciting year for Chris Vandyke Designs with a gradual rise in client demand for our custom designed tropical homes across Australia.

Over 2013 our Cairns based practice spread its wings offering a design and construct service on the Gold Coast of Australia. In addition to this during 2013 a few of our designs indirectly provided the canvases for three builders to receive three prestigious Master Builder Awards as follows:

• Winner of the 2013 Gold Coast House of the Year

• Gold Coast Best Individual Home over $2 million

• Best individual home in Far North Queensland $776,000 - $1 million

• Home Renovation/Remodeling Project over $576,000

In addition to this positivity Chris Vandyke Designs recently received commendations at the 2013 BDANSW Design Awards held in Sydney. These awards were for two individual residential projects located in Queensland, (New residential homes up to 250sqm & 351-450sqm respectively.

2012 ended superbly with Chris Vandyke Designs being honored with a bounty of design awards:

At the Far North Queensland Regional Award Ceremony, held Cairns 1st June 2012, Chris Vandyke Designs won all five categories that they entered: *Best New Home up to 250sqm for The Clifton Beach Residence - Cairns, *Best New Home 251 to 350 sqm for Santorini - Port Douglas, *Best New Home 351 to 450 sqm for Redlynch Residence - Cairns, *Best New Home over 450 sqm for Mission Beach Residence, *Best New Multi-Residential Project up to 6 Dwelling Units - Port Douglas In addition to the above, Chris Vandyke Designs were also awarded with: Sustainable Building Design for the Clifton Beach Residence - Cairns Best Use of Timber, also for the Clifton Beach Residence - Cairns.

At the Queensland State Building Designer’s Award Ceremony, held Brisbane Friday27th July 2012, Chris Vandyke Designs were awarded the following: Winner - Multi-Residential Project up to 6 Dwelling Units - Port Douglas, Winner - Best use of Engineered Timber - Clifton Beach Residence - Cairns Commendation - New Home 251 - 350 sqm - Santorini - Port Douglas, Commendation - New Home over 450 sqm - Mission Beach ResidenceIn addition to the above, Chris Vandyke Designs were also awarded with the: 2012 Sustainable Building Design Award Australia - Multi-Residential - Port Douglas. This was granted by The Built Environment Design Institute.
